Grades Pre-K through 6th (excluding 1st and 2nd grade) use the “Weaving God’s Promises” curriculum which teaches children how God’s promises of salvation are woven into our lives.
Grades 1 and 2 use Gretchen Pritchard’s “Alleluia Amen.” These grades concentrate on understanding and preparing for communion.
Grades 7 and 8 study “Living the Good News”, a curriculum that includes music, art, and literature to explore the scripture from the Revised Common Lectionary that is read in Church each Sunday.
All classes: will be learning about the Episcopal church, what it means to be Episcopalian, about our physical church building, our practices and our traditions. Bible stories are also an important part of our classes.
Helping your children learn: We only have a short time in our Sunday school classes … so regular attendance and reinforcement at home is important. Talk with your child about what they learned in class. Look at their handouts with them and continue the lesson at home. If you are going to miss several classes, we will be happy to provide you with copies of the lessons.
